Ministries & Parish Life

St. Andrew’s actively seeks to serve and care for people in need throughout the larger community in a variety of ways. From preparing meals in our church kitchen for distribution through Meals on Wheels to serving people experiencing homelessness at the Good Shepherd Center to collecting supplies for partnering ministries, opportunities to serve abound.

Please contact The Parish Office at (910) 256-3034 or parishsec@saots.org if you are interested in learning more.

Giving & Stewardship

“For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also” (Matthew 6:21). We could as easily translate this as “where your money is…” and not miss the mark. When we give to support St. Andrew’s On-the-Sound we are helping to secure a place where our hearts feel at home. Everything we are as a loving community, our worship, our study, our service, and our play is founded on what we give together.

It is important to know that our community has many small groups that provide a variety of ways to use your skills, learn something new, or get the support you need.

Likewise, we provide many small groups that provide in depth educational background with provide formal paths encouraging spiritual growth, referred to as formation.

There is a place for you, waiting at St. Andrew's.

Parish Life

The Parish Life of St. Andrew's encompasses the needs of the community through the teachings of Jesus Christ. Our community walks in the footsteps of forgiveness, feeding the hungry, giving to others, respecting others, and living our lives as reflections of Christ's light.

We do this with worship, music, study, giving of time and talent, education, and celebrations with friends and family. Join us.

Children, Youth & Families

It is a joy to support and nurture the spiritual lives of the children, youth, and parents at St. Andrew's. Our Nursery is available on Sundays from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm and provides a safe and fun environment for our youngest.

For kindergarten through 5th grade, our Atrium provides a bright and serene space where we hold the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd program.

Youth 6th grade through 12th grade are invited to EYC (Episcopal Youth Community) to join in an uplifting and exciting program for our teens.

Communication

Communication is important for the survival of any community. In addition to learning to listen and share ideas, we keep in touch with the written word, newsletters, blogs, social media, website, but most importantly through leadership from teachers, ministers, lay leaders, and committee chairs. Leadership and communication skills are learned through participation in our wide range of programs and community services.
