About this Outreach
Family Promise is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to helping families experiencing homelessness find lasting stability. Founded on the belief that every child deserves a safe place to call home, Family Promise works with communities across the country to prevent homelessness whenever possible and to provide shelter, support, and pathways forward when it cannot be avoided.
At the heart of Family Promise’s work is a holistic, family-centered approach. Rather than focusing only on short-term shelter, the organization addresses the root causes of homelessness by offering personalized case management, housing navigation, employment support, financial education, and connections to essential services. Families are treated with dignity and respect, empowered to set goals, and supported as they move toward independence and long-term housing stability.
Family Promise partners with local affiliates, congregations, volunteers, and community organizations to create flexible solutions that meet families where they are. Programs vary by location but may include emergency shelter, transitional housing, eviction prevention, rapid rehousing, and stabilization services designed to keep families together and reduce trauma for children.
Through compassion, collaboration, and practical support, Family Promise helps families rebuild their lives, strengthens communities, and works toward a future where homelessness is rare, brief, and nonrecurring.
