Marked by the Spirit, Sent in Love

On Sunday, April 19, 2026, in the bright and living season of Easter, we gathered not simply to witness a rite, but to recognize a becoming.
The Church has always known that faith is not something we possess, but something we grow into. And in the Book of Common Prayer, Confirmation is less about arrival and more about awakening, a moment when what has long been planted begins to take root in a new and conscious way .
We give thanks for the presence of Robert S. Skirving, Bishop of the Diocese of East Carolina, who joined us to lay hands upon those being confirmed, invoking the Holy Spirit not as something distant, but as something already stirring within them. He was accompanied by Sarah K. Fisher, a sign that the life of the Church is always unfolding, always being renewed.
There is something quietly powerful about this moment. No fireworks. No spectacle. Just hands, prayer, and the courage to say yes.
Yes to a life shaped by grace.
Yes to a deeper belonging.
Yes to becoming who God has already begun in them.
We are proud of each person who stepped forward. Not because they have finished something, but because they have begun, again and more deeply.
And perhaps that is the invitation for all of us. Not to admire from a distance, but to remember that the Spirit is still at work, still calling, still confirming something within each of us.
Many thanks to the Daughters of the King and our Welcome & Hospitality Ministry for hosting such a warm and beautiful reception following Confirmation Sunday. The Parish Hall looked wonderful!
We hope you enjoy the following photos commemorating this special day.
