Shuck-On-the-Sound Oyster Roast — A Joyful Afternoon

Updated: Mar 30

The Ninth Annual Shuck-On-the-Sound Oyster Roast was a joyful celebration of community, fellowship, and the beauty of a spring afternoon at St. Andrew’s. Held on Saturday, March 14th, parishioners, friends, and family gathered under sunny skies to enjoy a memorable day filled with great food, music, and connection.

As event organizer Kevin Davidson shared:

“On Saturday March 14th we gathered to celebrate our 9th annual Shuck On-the-Sound oyster roast. Despite the original event being delayed by a historic snowstorm, a sellout crowd of parishioners, friends, and family gathered on the grounds to enjoy freshly steamed oysters, bbq, and sides. This year’s event was our largest to date with a crowd of 160 in attendance.”

Guests were treated to all-you-can-eat oysters, delicious BBQ and sides, and refreshing beverages, all while enjoying live music from David Dixon. Laughter and conversation carried throughout the afternoon, reflecting the warm and welcoming spirit that defines our parish community. Events like Shuck-On-the-Sound continue a cherished tradition of fellowship at St. Andrew’s—bringing people together year after year to share in food, friendship, and the life of the church.

Kevin also expressed deep gratitude for those who made the day possible:

“We are grateful to the over 20 volunteers that made our event a success. We could not have done it without you. Thanks to everyone that supported Shuck On-the-Sound.”

We echo that gratitude and offer our heartfelt thanks to Kevin Davidson, the Hospitality Committee, and all the volunteers whose time, energy, and dedication made this event such a success.

Looking ahead, Kevin added:

“We look forward to seeing you in 2027 - where the little party that started in the parking lot will celebrate its 10th anniversary.”
