The Rev. Dr. William J. "BJ" Buracker II serves as Rector of St. Andrew's On-the-Sound Episcopal Church, bringing a thoughtful, compassionate ministry rooted in Scripture, faithful listening, and the grace of everyday life.
I grew up in Harnett County and worked many years in court administration in NC and GA. After moving to Wilmington, Ken and I joined St. Andrew’s On-the-Sound. I now serve in several ministries as a way of giving thanks.
Dn. Susan Cushinotto serves with a heart for pastoral care and justice, expanding visitation and supporting the spiritual needs of the St. Andrew’s community.
Amy was born and raised in the Buffalo, NY area but "rooted in Wilmington, NC." Her family has lived in other places but always found their way back to Wilmington, NC and St. Andrews on the Sound.
I’ve been part of St. Andrew’s On-the-Sound for eight years and serve on the Hospitality Committee. My wife, Theresa, and I have two children, Grace and Connor. I enjoy cycling, hiking, climbing, and baking sourdough.
I’ve been a member of St. Andrew’s On-the-Sound since 2002. Jeanne and I have two children, Sarah and James, and a new grandson. Now retired, I’m grateful to serve the church again as a vestry nominee.
My faith journey began at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Mullens, WV, and after years away, it was renewed at St. Andrew’s On-the-Sound. Through grief and healing, the church became my home again.
Judith Nichols serves St. Andrew’s with warmth and skill, offering administrative support, musical leadership, and a deep commitment to the church community.
Caroline Johnson oversees Children and Family Ministry, bringing passion, experience, and a love for learning to the formation and faith journeys of families at St. Andrew’s.
